Containers for Change Partners

Containers for Change is powered by a network of organisations working together to create lasting environmental and community impact across Western Australia.

First responsible suppliers

First Responsible Suppliers which include beverage manufacturers in WA and any business that supplies or imports eligible beverage products into the state, including manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, importers and retailers.

Through their contributions, First Responsible Suppliers help fund Containers for Change, with payments based on sales of eligible 10¢ containers in Western Australia.

Their support plays an important role in keeping the scheme running efficiently while helping deliver meaningful outcomes for communities, charities and the environment across the state.

Logistics Providers

Logistics providers are an important part of the Containers for Change network, helping connect refund points and processing centres across the state. Through the safe and efficient transportation of 10¢ containers, they help keep the scheme running smoothly and maximise its environmental, social and economic impact.

Processors

Processors help transform returned 10¢ containers into resources that can be used again, playing an important role in the success of Containers for Change.

From verifying container counts to processing materials for market and assisting with their sale to accredited recyclers, processors help keep valuable materials in circulation and support positive environmental outcomes across Western Australia.

Recyclers

We engage with accredited recyclers that purchase processed materials to make new products, including beverage containers and construction materials.

Refund Point Operators

Each Containers for Change refund point is independently owned, providing services to suit its local community's needs.

Through Containers for Change, over 846 jobs have been created in Western Australia. When we started, we wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to join in — particularly those who are sometimes left behind.
