1. PREPARE YOUR CONTAINERS

With glass wine and spirit bottles (between 150ml and 3L) now in the mix, you’ll likely be returning more glass than usual.

Since these items are heavier, you’ll want to opt for sturdy bags or boxes to store your empties.

Remember to remove all lids before taking your containers to a refund point and consider giving them a quick rinse to keep bugs away.

For more tips on storing your containers, read our guide here.

2. PLAN YOUR VISIT

Our refund points may be a little busier than usual so a little patience will go a long way during this transition period.

If you don’t mind waiting for your refund, take advantage of our convenient bag drop options. Simply place your containers in a sturdy bag, label each bag with your member number and drop to your local bag drop at a time convenient for you.

If you can’t make it out to a refund point, check out our home collection service, Container Collect where we come to you.

3. SIGN UP FOR A MEMBER NUMBER

Prepare for your recycling journey by signing up for a member number in advance. This means you can fast track your experience when returning your containers.

When you cash in with your member number, you can choose your preferred payment method, whether that’s bank transfer, PayPal or donation. Even if you prefer a cash refund, you can still use your member number to track the change you’re making.

4. DOWNLOAD OUR APP

Our app is packed with lots of handy features to make cashing in your containers even easier.

The app stores your member number and barcode making for an easy return at the refund point. It’s also easy to view your return history and monitor your total refunds.

Plus, you can use it to find a refund point near you, schedule a home collection and scan containers to check whether they are eligible.

Download the app from Google Play or the App Store here.

The expansion of the scheme to include wine and spirits will see the recovery of more glass, giving your bottles the chance to be used again and again as part of the circular economy.
