Support a cause with your refund
Are you someone who's not motivated by the 10¢ refunds, but want your containers to have a positive impact on someone else? We love that. To donate your 10¢ container refunds, all you need is the member number of the cause you want to support.
There are over 5,000 charities, schools and community groups across WA who are fundraising through Containers for Change. Search our list of registered causes, and save their member number for when you next return your containers.
How to donate at our refund points
Whichever way you return your 10¢ containers, you can donate directly to your chosen cause via their member number.
Here's how:
At Depots, tell the operator the member number of your chosen cause so that we can process your refund straight to them.
At Self-serve Kiosks and Self-serve Depots, you can scan their member number barcode before your start returning.
At Drop & Go stations, write their member number on your bag/s of containers (instead of your own).
If you're using our Collection Service, please make sure you have ‘donation’ set as your preferred payment method in your member number portal.
Automatically donate with your member number
If you have a member number account, you can set your preferred payment method to 'donate'. This means that you can link the member number of your chosen cause to your personal member number account.
Log into the member portal, set your preferred payment method to 'donate', then choose the cause you want to donate to. Next time you return your 10¢ containers, just use your member number as usual and the refund will be donated straight to the cause you have chosen. An added benefit of doing this is that you will be able to keep track of how much you have donated to your chosen cause over time.
Give back to your community
As of September 2024, everyday Western Australians have donated over $13.5 million in 10¢ container refunds to good causes across our state!
